Prior to baptism both parents will be required to attend a short course (unless you have attended a course with us within the last two years). It explains the words, symbols, and actions that have been passed down to us in this great sacrament from the earliest days of the Church. It will give you a better understanding of what you are undertaking when your child is baptised and will help and equip you to develop your child's spiritual life.
When? During the Coronavirus restrictions it varies. Otherwise, the course normally takes place every 3rd Saturday of every other month and lasts two and a half hours.

Time? During the Coronavirus restrictions it varies. Otherwise, 12.30 to 3.30 pm (beginning with lunch)

Baptisms are celebrated on Saturdays at 12.30 pm.

Note: If you live outwith the Cathedral Parish (catchment area), you will need to request permission from your own parish priest in order to participate in this course or have your child baptised at the Cathedral.
