Baptism

Congratulations on the birth of your child!

Prior to baptism both parents will be required to attend a short online course (unless you have attended a course with us within the last two years). It explains the words, symbols, and actions that have been passed down to us in this great sacrament from the earliest days of the Church. It will give you a better understanding of what you are undertaking when your child is baptised and will help and equip you to develop your child's spiritual life.

When?   3rd Saturday of every other month and lasts two and a half hours.

Where?    On-line using Zoom

Time?    2 pm to 4 pm

Course Cost?     No cost

The Baptisms themselves are celebrated on Saturdays at 2pm.

To arrange a baptism  please complete the contact form below. Please give two months notice.

Note: If you live outwith the Cathedral Parish (catchment area), you will need to request permission from your own parish priest in order to participate in this course or have your child baptised at the Cathedral. If you are not sure which of the Aberdeen parishes you belong to you can find out by visiting the parish boundaries map of the City.
